 I used the condenser microphone to record the sound of celery crunching, pingping ball, needle scratching the metal surface and a wooden ruler beating the metal tank.

  For the first sound environment, I was trying give audience a sense that there is a spacious space and something supernatural is happening in this space. For the effect, I mostly used the reverb and EQ in my audio track. First, the echo sound of the ping pang ball would reveal the space of the environment to the audience. Secondly, the celery crunching is representing a new creature is coming out of the eggshell, then there is a sound of water dripping on plastic bag serve as the heart beat. I used sound of needle scratching the metal surface as high frequency sound in the audio track, and it act as the regular observance or practice of ritual.

 There would be a second sound environment in the audio track. I will finish that part by next week and it would explore more information of that supernatural creature that shown in the first part of the audio track.

Sound Final Project

The length of the film is 12 minutes and 30 seconds, and I picked 4 scenes from the original film for this project. On the film set, the environment is noisy and full of hubbub of voices. For my final project, I am thinking recreate the sound space of my film and make a clean sound track that could give audience enough information about the environment that surrounding my actors. Also, I am planing make a sound effect that could connect each scenes together and construct an emotion tone for my film.For instance, the story took place in two time line, I was hoping that I could make a sound effect that symbolized the flash back scene of the film and help audience get a better understanding of the story. CAR 241 Recording Manipulations #1

https://soundcloud.com/xizhe-zhang/sets/car-recording-manipulations-1 Track 1 There is only one audio source in the sound track 1 which is the sound of a wooden ruler. For the high frequency sound in my track, I reverse the audio and change the speed of it. Then I cut off a small part of the audio from the original and change the pitch in Time and Pitch Machine. Track 2 There are two different audio sources in the sound track 2. One is come from a film camera, and another is come from a 35mm film. I cut these two and mix it together. I used automation for the sound from the film camera, but it did not make much difference. Tack 3 This sound track is a high frequency one. There are also two different audio sources in the sound track. One is the wooden ruler and another is the film camera. For this track, I was trying create a high frequency sound track by change the speed and pitch.
